Sarah! Argh! Just found out- you only get the bonus if you PAY tax for the 07/08 financial year, not just for lodging a tax return! So now I'm not going to get it because I'm dodgy and so didn't hit the threshold to have to pay tax!
I guess if you screw the system you get screwed in the end, hmmm?

and if this is true.. does that mean im not getting my tax bonus (sad face)
cos it just occurred to me that i havent received my tax bonus yet !
and at the same time i havent heard any of my friends getting it yet
and im sure that the majority of us didnt pay any tax..
but fingers cross.. that the governments going through the list slowly and paying everyone out..
i have big plans for that lump of money..

they started payments as of yesterday! so no one wouldve got it yet. as long as you lodged a tax return u should get the 950 even if you didnt have to pay back any tax. pretty sure u'll get it. i get paid tomorrow woohoo! you should get it deposited into your bank account with ur next centrelink payment. you should receive a letter within the next few days if you havent already got one and u can also check online at centrelink when you go to report. it should say $240+$950 etc if you are getting it!
