as if call me a spoilt brat
because if i were then you must be a SUPER SPOILT BRAT!
i wasnt the one who was showered with everything you ever wanted and needed!

spreading christmas cheer
time and place: approx 10:30pm, johnnys apartment
what: jenny writing a last minute letter to santa,
walks out to the lounge room and asks johnny
jenny: johnny do you have anything for santa's reindeers?
johnny: err no?
jenny: (opens fridge) bread?
johnny: nah its a bit old
jenny: um ok, what do i give them then?
kim: (from johnny's room) jenny just give them water,
theyll probably be thirsty anyway.
jenny: (closes fridge) ok! (runs back to johnnys room)
she'd already given santa water because we didnt have any milk or cookies.
the next day
jenny: kim! kim! look!
santa and his reindeers drank all the water!
kim: oh wow! they must have been thirsty.

my dad is ridiculous
i dont want to get too detailed with this
but just listening to the things he says!
makes me soooooooooooooooooo frustrated!
i dont know how i put up with it
on another note im itching to go watch
"where the wild things are"
(i know i feel like im two years too late
but i just hadnt had the time)
i wanted to post up this video
but it wont let me load it (sad face)
anyways it made me laugh a little inside
www.youtube.com/watch?v=wsLqKAvKiQM
update: watched it, was disappointed. (double sad face)

direct me
customer: hi, i was just wondering where the fineliners are
kim: um yeh.. there just somewhere in aisle two
(officeworks girl looks at me)
kim: oh um, aisle two along the right side.
customer: ok thanks.
kim: its ok
unlike being at elles,
i now have to know where everything is in the store
whereas in the past
when someone comes up to me and asks where a certain store is
i usually simply said,
"sorry im not quite too sure but you can check the directory right over there"
(points to the directory near the escalators)
only after a day ive already been stuck in so many different situations.
a few funny ones would have been
being paid 99 dollars in gold coins,
a man pay for a printer with 6 different gift cards,
and a newly graduated year 12 forge his own enter
(he had under 30 and so re-scanned his certificate
and changed everything around and gave himself a 57.30 ENTER. haha
then i told him about the heat activated logo,
but we figured no one would find out
since a few staff at officeworks had no idea as well.)
who knew making money would be so hard
being back at work seems so weird,
i now have to wake up early (sad face)

she knows what she wants
throughout the whole year,
jenny has consistently hinted she wanted a nintendo ds
everytime the dsi ad appears,
she'd turn around and smile
followed by me replying "no, youre not getting it"
and when asked what she wanted for her birthday
she cunningly tries to describe a ds
"something rectangular shaped like this
(uses index fingers to draw a small rectangle)
with a pen thingy and you can play games on it"
lol, as describe by jenny
so for her birthday i bought myself a portable hard drive
and wrapped it up and gave it to jenny to open
she opened it and i asked if it was exactly what she wanted
she looked at me with a "wth" kind of face
and nicely replied "yes" with a slightly forced smile
after a couple of minutes of johnny going
"wow a hard drive!",
tommy chuckling to himself,
and the blank stares on her friends faces,
we gave her the dsi
she likes it very much!
its an even better present because she expected a ds
but instead got a dsi
so now she can post her pictures on facebook! haha
hrms i dont think tommy has any idea
of that photo of him she posted on her facebook
anyways i thought it was hilarious
when jenny was telling me what she thought that hard drive was
she thought it was that
"black box you plug blue wires into"
(she was trying to explain a modem) AHAHHAHA
so moral to the story:
persistence pays off
(or so we believe it should)

plan B
my one flaw thats annoying me at the moment
would be that i have trouble showing emotion
yes its probably my fault
that i hardwired myself not to show excessive emotion over the majority of my life
but thats become a part of me now
just because you dont see enthusiasm written all over this face,
im enthusiastic!
eg. your friend doesnt invite you to do something because you never "seem" enthusiastic about it.
get the fuck out of here!

japan itinerary
just got home two days ago
and it seems as though things have gone back to normal instantly.
feels as though ide never left!
not just my family and friends but my sleeping patterns
(been trying to fall asleep since two in the morning)
this is bad considering im pretty tired right now
and when i was in japan ide fall asleep straight away so easily
anyways so i figured there would be too much to write about japan
so ill just sum up what i did in the two and a half weeks
and of course judging from the pics ive loaded up
i had a blast!
minus perhaps a couple of days
but i absolutely love the place
and would one day love to live there for a little while
(but then again i would prob want to live everywhere i go visit)
tokyo
shinjuku- technology shopping. (where i got my camera)
watami- japanese style bar where we met japanese people and tried to converse. lol
(we didnt go out late at night much because
one: i dont drink much
two: it was just shannon and i
three: can you really picture us two go clubbing? LOL)
harajuku- 105 yen shops and shopping for clothes clothes clothes!
plus the odd harajuku here and there
osaka
osaka castle- which was followed by an outdoor festival nearby
kansai airport- we had to go all the way to the airport to cash out money because our credit cards werent working at the ATM's we visited and we were heading to kyushu the next day
floating garded observatory- 173 metres above ground and onto the roof!
(i seriously couldnt believe we were able to go on the roof)
kyushu
takachiho gorge- this place is special to the shintos (a religion)
because their sun goddess hid in one of the caves in this gorge
and then the world was all dark
and so the other gods had to come and find her and danced outside the cave to woo her out.
temple- we slept at a temple owned by an interracial couple who were both priests/monks
who both ate meat and had half caste kids
(their religion is just a branch off buddhism,
they dont believe that you have to sacrifice what other monks sacrifice
to achieve enlightenment, which i thought was very interesting)
mount aso fountainhead- we bought home a bottle of the mount aso water
it was soo fresh i couldnt believe i was drinking unfiltered water!
8 staff/8 student primary school- the kids and teachers/staff were soo cute.
half the staff were in our classroom when we visited
as though they were very excited to have guests at their school which i found adorable
hiroshima
peace memorial park- this is the most peacful park ever,
indeed was good for walks
and i felt safe in the dark as well,
unlike that southgate walk path (which leads you to crown)
miyajima island- cross by boat/ferry,
where i got my soda pop ice cream
(yum, its a fruity soda flavour with bursts of sherbert in the mixture)
this is also where we saw the big red gate and the giant spoon lol
kyoto
myoshin-ji temple- where the little zen and rock pool gardens were
just loved the scenery and just sitting there playing with rocks
and listening to the water stream
noji castle- it was closed when we went,
and after that long walk from the station too =(
another place ide have liked to visit in kyoto
was the daitoku-ji temple
which has one of the best zen gardens
(rocks raked on the ground)
but it wasnt close to a staion near us
and we were only there for the day but next time for sure!
tokyo
shibuya- running around looking for tattoo parlours
ueno- ate on the giant panda bridge, looked for bike gear
disneyland- so much bigger and more magical than i had previously expected.
tsukiji fish market- the place opens at 5 and closes at 6:15 every morning
so attempting to wake up for it was an epic fail
the first two times we attempted to go.
so on our third try,
i did an all nighter just so i can make it.
this place was filled will auctions in a huge shed
filled with humungous fish
and people betting and buying them to be driven back to their market shops to be sliced up,
the place smelled pretty fishy and the place is hectic
they dont give way to pedestrians
kameido- this is the suburb we stayed in when we were in tokyo.
it was a great place to explore around
late at night when we were hungry
and had the comfort of knowing we dont need to run for our last train home
the in betweens days were pretty much filled with travelling on bullet trains
(which consisted of us doing sudokus, brain teasters, knitting, playing i-spy, hangman, bento boxes, snacks, shannon smoking, sleeping and boredom)
to different cities and exploring around the area we were staying at.
eg. pachinko, arcades, shops, markets and various eateries.
japan should be on everyones list to visit.
there is always so much to do and explore here
even after all that travelling,
thats only half of the things you can do in japan.
you just need more time to explore
so if you go to japan, youde prob need a month to see the whole country
and our JR passes (japan rail passes) came in handy
we definitely got our moneys worth with them
and it seems as though things have gone back to normal instantly.

say hi to forever
i was going to write more about japan
but decided to write something else.
one of the things i tend do
when i find it hard to sleep at night
is go and read my friends blogs for updates
which then lead me to a whole lot of other links and blogs
just yesterday morning
when i was catching up on some news
ide read something had happened to one of the bloggers
and it kind of makes me sad
i havent been able to stop thinkng about it
so just thought ide write something.

wakarimasen
LOVE LOVE LOVE JAPAN!
just posted a heap of photos and its only been 48hrs!
ive pretty much revised the equivalent of four years beginners japanese!
its hilarious talking to japs
because they have the really funny expressions
and when walking into a restaurant,
because youre asian they assume youre japanese too.
and then they are confused when you
pull words out of your butt like
`i dont understand` -(wakarimasen)
but with the phrasebook ive gotten by
and with the little japanese learnt in high school has finally come to a use
on the first night,
we ran around our neighbourhood
and went through pretty much every store that was still open
the first one we went to knew no english besides a few words
and being the first japs we talked to,
it was amazingly difficult
but after going through our phrasebook,
and taking forever to find what we were looking for
all was well.
i think the chef even laughed at me when i asked if there was anything vegetarian!
(sounded like he was shouting in japanese to the other crew `omg shes a vegetarian ahahhahaha what are we going to feed her`)
but he was always friendly and laughed heaps!
shannon even came back to the store
to have drinks with him whilst i went exploring in the shopping plaza
i think its awesome that we blend in as well
so i can do what ever i like and not have to hang with shannon 24/7
which we previously discusses that by the end of this trip
we would not be able to bear each other anymore
so first morning in japan
was spent travelling to shinjuku station
to get me my camera ive been waiting for 3 months for
then we went exploring around and shopped
(didnt buy anything though besides my camera which i was ecstatic about)
then down the little streets we look through the arcades
shannon accidently blew too much money on the pachinko machines LOL
only because his mind kept converting yen into vietnam money
5000 vietnam money = 5 dollars AUD
whereas 5000 yen = 70 AUD
he only realised it when i asked him how much he spent on the games
and i went.. you do realise that like.. (does calculation)
first night out has been hilarious too!
going to pubs and japanese style bars.
made friends with a couple of people and had quite a long conversation
until shannon and i took our last photos with them]and bolted to the train!
luckily we caught the last train home
which was immensely packed to the core!
everyone was touching me from left to right, front to back
and being short i didnt have the best view.
such an awesome journey so far though!
the jap people we met at the bar told me my japanese was very good
(they even put their two thumbs up)
even shannon was amazed of how much jap i knew
(and so was i)
when asked what had led us to japan and what we were interested in
my answers were...
cheap flights (showing hand actions of a plane flying)
haha gotta love body language
and then at the top of my head
told them i wanted to visit buildings, temples, harajukus
and then i got more creative and pulled out
utada hikaru and ayumi hamasaki from the past
and that i use to listen to their music LOL
the nights been hilarious!

ps.
• my laptop broke down last week for some unknown reason,
my brother fixed it and has taken it for the weekend =(
i miss being on it because it feels so strange sitting down using a desktop
• i finished school on friday at precisely 12:14pm
and now all i can think about is japan!
4 more days until i jet off!
im going to take so many photos like i always do.
i cant wait! its my first overseas flight other than vietnam.
• the skyline came home saturday afternoon.
they found it dumped in dallas
and then was towed down to campbellfield to check for fingerprints.
the thief yanked out our mp3 player and battery (for the car)
• the cars since then been thoroughly vacuumed
and is now lying in the front yard
i havent taken it for a ride yet
so i dont know how i feel about its return
• fact: insurance in our area cost way more than other areas.
for obvious reasons, its because there is such a higher rate of theft in this area
which is annoying
• i cleaned out my floor yesterday night
and now i have floor space!
(will show you pictures when i get my laptop back)
• my brother is getting his keys on the 19th of nov (when i leave)
and soon when i return will be moving in his room with jenny
im both excited and not sure if i want his room
(only because its so big it wont feel like a room anymore)
but if i decide not to move in, ill claim the walk in wardrobe for storage!
• i think this is going to be the best summer yet!
and its only just began.

i love toiletries
its true, you might not think it
but ive always loved walking through the aisles of coles looking at toiletries
i love reading the back of the packaging even though they all generally say the same thing
ive practically used every supermarket branded facial cleanser
as i wash my face three times a day
(i know, might sound extreme to people with dry skin but ive always grown up with an oily/combination complexion. it use to be really gross when i laid my face on my school journal and you see this tracing paper because the page had been soaked in oil. YUK!)
but im very thankful my skin doesnt break out so often or suffer from extreme acne
about a month ago ide asked my brother why we always used tresemme shampoo.
he'd told me he bought it because it came in bulk and wouldnt run out so quickly
after all these years ide thought he bought it because it was "salon quality" and that hed like the brand
so now that i know i could buy whatever shampoo i want
ive been going crazy with shampoos and conditioners
because ive never really been fond of the brand
so ive started using conditioner and its made my hair sooooooooo SOFT!
its virtually tangle free when i wake up!
i love it!!!!
though when i first started using it, my hair fell out A LOT
i thought i was going bald
(which was the major reason why ide stopped using it a decade ago)
but hair loss is now at a minimum since using conditioner frequently
(i dont know why, maybe because my hair is used to the conditioner now?)
anyways i went toiletry shopping today for japan
and i loved it!
bought shampoo, conditioner, toothpaste, toothbrush, toothbrush holders, moisturisers, cleansers, deodorants and everything else.

permanently inked
my friend got a tattoo of a scarecrow on his calf yesterday
im not very fond of tattoos
but just thinking of it,
if i did get a tattoo
it would be something that would be of sentimental value
because it will be something that is permanent.
something like THUG LIFE across my fingers just doesnt cut it.
and it would have to be somewhere that i wont see often
so i know there will be days i wont regret it
because if i cant see it, then its not really there.
at this moment
things i will probably get tattooed on my body:
(if i wanted a tattoo, which i wont)
• SLR camera (my brother thinks i was so gay when we were discussing this lol)
• needle and thread
• simple stitches
and where:
• on my neck, behind the ear region
• on the side of my hand (close to the little finger)
im not very fond of tattoos
but just thinking of it,
if i did get a tattoo
it would be something that would be of sentimental value
because it will be something that is permanent.
something like THUG LIFE across my fingers just doesnt cut it.
and it would have to be somewhere that i wont see often
so i know there will be days i wont regret it
because if i cant see it, then its not really there.

i have issues with certain people reading my blogs such as..
• siblings
• siblings friends
• friends siblings
• old high school people
• creepy people on facebook
• majority of people on my facebook
• three quarters of people on my msn
i dont have my link posted on my facebook for a reason.
when i had facebook notes, they were on private
when i posted my blogspot link on msn,
i had certain people blocked so they cant see it
(and when i took it off, only those who remembered my blog and wanted to read it would remain reading it, or unless they asked me for the link again.)
anyways im going to put it on private for a while.
i know im a paranoid kid, but thats just how i am.
ps. if ive forgotten to invite anyone just tell me.

a sad farewell
the skyline was stolen on the day of halloween
in broad daylight
they walked straight into our drive way
and as i saw it reverse out and figured out thats not my dad in the car
they had driven off
and there was nothing i could do =(
i know its an old car
but im sad and partly pissed off i cant believe it actually happened
because it was our family car
and i grew up being driven to school in that car as a kid
and it was the first car i drove
and the primary car i drive around on supermarket runs with the siblings
or to friends houses to watch them play table tennis
or eat oven baked foods
or drive around on narrow roads with friends to laugh with
im going to miss it
the squeaky side windows
dirty window wipes
my faded p plates
crushed tissue box
my dads baby food ash tray jar
and my first mix cd for the car
and if its found and bought back home to us again
i dont know if i can bear to drive it
because its been driven by someone else
(and so itll feel really gross cos i dont know what they did to it)
at times like these ide hope more kids go trick or treating on my street.

paper cut outs have feelings too
just did my first ever proper stop motion.
a lot of printing, cutting, folding and gluing was done yesterday night and today
its such a pain trying to glue little things together like legs and arms!
whilst filming outside i realised
i hadnt factored in wind!
so i had to head inside to do my stop motion instead
so colours arent that great!
damn wind and paper objects that fly away!
stop motion isnt that great so far
but well have to see after editing.

capped
brother came home yesterday and managed to use up 11% of our net
must get through the next week with only 6%
missed out on a whole week of school because i was unable to wake up on time
must get through the next 3 weeks until holidays
went to coles to buy glue for assignment
came home with food, no glue
must go out and buy glue today
must get a start on homework.
its 2:20pm and i havent even brushed my teeth
or jumped out of bed
so lazy.
i dont know how i live

grape soda
my friends and i were talking about the movie "UP" yesterday
and how it was such a "feel good movie"
besides the overall purpose of carrying out his life dream on his own,
we talked about the little bits that got to us
(which was pretty much the whole movie)
just the simplest scenes had me teary eyed
and one of them was when russell was explaining to carl why he wanted his scout badge so badly
because then he would get to see his dad again
and so he went on to reminisce about the times spent with his dad
like eating ice cream on the curb and counting cars,
things he missed most.
and then you have carl and he knows exactly whats going on
silent, and looking at the poor child
not being the one to burst his little bubble
its them helpless moments where all you want to do is hug the kid
and tell him everything will be ok
or so you would hope but cant do anything about it
and any sudden change of emotion would confuse the kid
so instead you stand a step back and observe from afar
there are five stages of grief
• denial
• anger
• bargaining
• depression
• acceptance
as you watch the movie you can see the characters subtly go through these stages
which makes it such a sad movie
because dealing with loss is always hard

mission h2o
if youve watched tv recently,
new water saving commericials have emerged.
mission h2o was a project at swinburne done by either third years or honours students.
its won a lot of awards back in 2007
and its taken two years to be aired on tv
the school is very proud of it
i remember how all the lecturers and tutes were talking about it
and telling the students to check it out.
so help save water!
just because it rained heavily today
DOES NOT MEAN YOU CAN HAVE LONGER SHOWERS!!!!!
target 155. (aim to not use over 155 litres of water a day)
anyways my off peak is currently capped at the moment
so you wont be seeing early morning blogs
this means i have nothing useless to do but watch tv
im so thankful channel 99 (GO!)
have changed their tv schedule and started playing repeats of their programs
instead of having the music aria charts when all they do is repeat 15 songs in a row for 5 WHOLE hours, 6 days a week.
(songs get pretty annoying after the repeats. every twenty minutes, everyday)

the cupcake bakery
i am slowly going through these cupcakes
its such a waste of time
because ide get off the train just to go into the city
just for cupcakes
i dont know whats wrong with me
they just taste like ordinary cupcakes but they look so pretty
anyways my friend asked me what music i listen to
and who i listened to
and i didnt have an answer
after a long sleep i came up with an answer
i tend to lean towards instrumental stuff with depressing, slutty or overly cheerful lyrics.
but then realised that covers a wide range of music
so im back at square one.
and i dont know what i listen to because i dont have any consistent favourite artists
i might like their old albums now but dislike their new stuff
or vice versa

go bananas
a while ago i had a conversation with a friend
about how my family and i drink litres of milk a week
(we roughly buy a 3 litre bottle of milk every 5 days or so)
and so she recommended a simple recipe
(because i never drink milk plain)
warm milk, mashed banana and honey.
at first i thought it was an awesome idea
but after my first attempt at the drink
i thought it tasted really weird
the banana was too mashed up and i didnt put enough honey
so it looked like a thick-ish liquid of milk with tiny bits of cauliflower
the texture wasnt right at all but i had to try it again
on my second attempt i didnt mash the bananas as much
and put stacks of honey in it
and it tasted alright
so tonight i tried the drink again and was hoping it might taste better third time round
unfortunately for some reason i kept thinking of vomit
and looking into the cup with the lumpy mashed up banana
and smelling heated up milk, banana and a hint of honey
didnt give me that snuggly winter feeling,
instead it just made everything in my stomach curdle a little
because the scent reminded me of off milk
so i think im really put off and will never try this again.
but if you want to try something
rice with soya sauce and honey!
a little odd but i like it
just think of honey soy chicken on rice
but home made and without the chicken.

car keys
this morning my dad officially gave me a copy of his car keys
im not too sure but this might mean that i can take the car now without asking him
provided that the car is at home and not in use at the time
along with the keys, he gave me a "simonds homes" keyring
this reminds me of when johnny and i were given a copy of our own home keys when we first moved into this house because we too were given a copy of this keyring
and now it has suddenly reappeared again.
im not going to use it though
but he wants me to attach it to my keys
so there will be a better chance i wont lose my keys
but i dont like bulky things
because it wont fit in my wallet then

dumpling king
every now and then my friends and i like to go and eat out,
this week we went to box hill.
we had set out to eat at a certain restaurant
but had found out it was closed last minute
so we headed down the streets looking through restaurants
and found dumpling king.
the only reason why we chose it was because it looked extremely busy and packed compared to the other restaurants and cafes we walked pass
so the wait for the table was 20 mins
which was cool considering it was surprisingly a busy night
and time flew by fast as we talked and chatted away in the waiting bay
so here is my overall review
• customer service was shit as
all the waiters avoided us.
they walked around with their heads down low
so they could pretend they didnt see us signal
(and this was when the restaurant was now half busy and we had spent an hour and fifteen minutes waiting for my main)
i even fully turned my body around and stared straight at them
for almost a full minute
until it got a little too creepy
and still they didnt come and assist us
• the main which my friends had ordered was a sizzling plate
and by the time it came out,
it wasnt even sizzling
as in you can start to see the sauce go a bit solid
(like how oil starts looking like a lump of lard on a plate)
• they even forgot our rice, which took 10 minutes or so getting their attention and reminding them
and by that time everything was cold
• so after a long discussion
we decided to ask them how long my dish was going to be
and if it took too long skip it
and have dessert somewhere else as well
(since the service was atrocious and it doesnt take an hour and a half to cook tofu)
as you all know how bad the service was
it wasnt until the waiter came our way to place a dish near our table
that we could get his attention.
we hadnt asked him anything yet
but he knew what we were after
and said "yes yes i know you have one more dish"
and walked off without even telling us how long it was going to be!
HE JUST WALKED OFF LIKE IT WAS SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO BUSY NOW AND COULDNT EVEN WAIT FOR US TO TALK TO HIM! WTF FUCKING PIECE OF SHIT!
so that certainly ticked me off
and a couple of minutes later
as my friend was going to walk up to the counter and complain
the manager comes and tells us
our dish will only have one tofu and if it was ok
so this was when she had a mini quarrel with him
about the bad service and all he could say was
"im sorry its a busy tuesday, theres nothing i can do"
and looking around its been half full for the past half hour
since the dinner rush has passed
and the waiters didnt even give us a time frame of how long my dish was going to take
plus if there was a problem with the dish
the least you can do is tell us about it
so there will be no misunderstandings
instead of lounging around the bar
and when someone tries to signal them
they'll turn around
and pretend to read the orders pinned on the wall -_-"
in the end we cancelled my last dish,
only paid for the entrees and rice
and set off to a vegie bakery to get me some bread
then off to a lil cafe for dessert.
so heres my warning in advance
DO NOT GO TO DUMPLING KING IN BOX HILL
WORST PLACE EVER
"I SHIT YOU NOT"
the only positive thing i can think of
was that the dumplings were good
but i know a lot of good dumpling places
so i wont be missing out on much

remote control
one of the reasons why i love my little sister..
she puts the remote control near my pillow
when she goes out during the day
so when i wake up
i dont have to frantically get up and look for it like a mad woman.

for the home
my family had just bought an apartment
and now i cant wait for another half decade until i own my own home
so i can furnish it the way i like it
but for now im hoping my brother moves out so i can takeover his room YAY!
ill have soooo much space
and a walk in wardrobe so my room would never look messy again!
but that wont probably happen for another 6 months at the least
so i was bored and searched the web for fun
and strolled by these pieces
would be a good for an apartment or office
where there is limited sunlight
awesome bin to sort out your rubbish!
its got three pedals for each section!
yay! recycling could be fun for everyone now!
the umbrella holder has holes at the bottom
so when coming home from a rainy day,
the water from the umbrella seeps through to feed the pot plant
prob not good for storage in the cupboard
(because itll take up too much room)
but would look awesome on a coffee table
and convieninent for foods with wrappers or shells
if only they made the same thing with a lid that had a lil mini scoop in it
so then you could use it as a little container filled with crispy m&m's
and scoop some out and leave on top for the kids to snack on
they can be used as side tables, stools, shelves
or even a glass coffee table
(if you used these as posts and a glass piece placed on top)
would look so pretty with the japanese-ish floral print
(love the floral print!)
and the coffee table could double up as a magazine storage too! haha
aw im getting too excited about furniture
now i must keep myself away from ikea
just in case i have a panic attack

2d character animation
I finished my animation assignment 4 hours ago
and it wasnt until i started my next assignment
that i realised i forgot to change the format of the animation
so all that time i was animating in 12 frames per second
instead of 25 frames per second.
i have no idea how i didnt spot it
because now that i look at it i can tell
and all that time i just thought it was because of my drawings that werent smooth
i blame it on the fact that i was concentrating too much on syncing my sound with the babushkas' lips
because that drove me NUTS!
i decided that it doesnt look too bad
and there is no use trying to fix it
because then i might as well restart the whole assignment!
but i am a bit sad because i really liked this animation
anyways the video is a bit fuzzy
ill try import a better version if i can later
(the higher quality files arent compatible with this site, shame)

pleasantville
watched pleasantville in class today
(i know my classes sound like such a bludge but we were studying the importance of colour and this movie is the basis of our discussion)
if you havent watched it already,
its pretty much about two siblings
who get sucked into a 1950's tv show called pleasantville,
where everything is "pleasant" and black and white
until they start to change the 1950's way of living
and colour slowly appears into their lives and on screen
(just a short synopsis, theres much more depth to the movie)
anyways the reason why im talking about it is
whilst i was watching it,
all i could think about was yr 12 media class
i absolutely loved the class because we just watched movies and spent a whole semester just talking about cinematography
and how it tells the story
by using such things as colour, saturation, depth of field and different compositions
media by far was my favourite class of all
because we went through so many discussions about things that interested me personally
and a lot of the discussions revolved around the one question
"does art imitate life or does life imitate art?"

i bite my straws
in the pass 24 hours
a few of my friends had sent me messages telling me i get free boost today
because my name is kim
i thought awesome !
then last night whilst turning on the tv garden state was on
when i turned on the tv today,
one hour photo was on,
on oprah today, the episode was about breaking new records
maybe this was just coincidental
but i thought that they were omens
and i felt that something good was going to happen
because i went for my P's today
and i fortunately passed!
im going to slowly go driving around to tell you all
but if you see this first, then youre one of the firsts to know
so after passing i went down to the city to celebrate with my free boost
and bought a couple of gift cards off a homeless guy
you might know him, his names wayne and you can usually find him in front of myer drawing or colouring in
after that i treated myself with a few things at dymocks and lincraft
and then coincidentally met a friend when travelling home
which was such a good catch up
and i got her a free boost smoothie as well
(helping people out makes me so happy =D =D )

toilets
yesterday at school whilst i entered the female toilets
to my amazement found the toilet seat up
i dont know, its a bit weird
because after exiting, all i can think of was
what kind of person (female in particular) would go to the toilet..
WITH THE SEAT UP?
i can not think of a time in my life
where ive needed the toilet seat up
besides maybe throwing up
(which i dont even remember needing the seat up)
but then whom ever used the toilet before me
ide assume even so (if she were throwing up)
you would think youde put the toilet seat back down
because dont we spend the majority of our lives
lecturing males to put the seat back down at home?

travel
whilst johnny and i were running around myer on the weekend
we saw his friend whose just come back from america
she'd worked in disney world for 5 months or so
and then went backpacking all around america
i also have a friend who just left last week to study at san diego
and another whose going to china i think it was
to work after she graduates
and hearing about people working, studying and travelling
around the world makes me immensely jealous of them all
because whilst they are doing it
im hear saying "i want to do it"
and so far nothing is happening
its just become "talk" something that i would ideally want
but maybe has a really low chance of it actually happening
though the idea of going overseas
and doing things on my own really appeals to me,
its the actual step of leaving my life that
i have already established here and everyone i associate with
my family, my friends, my own room that i love so much
and im scared of leaving all this behind
because if i come back, what happens then?
people change over time
and i fear that when i come back from this huge adventure
everything is going to change
we saw his friend whose just come back from america
she'd worked in disney world for 5 months or so
and then went backpacking all around america
i also have a friend who just left last week to study at san diego
and another whose going to china i think it was
to work after she graduates
and hearing about people working, studying and travelling
around the world makes me immensely jealous of them all
because whilst they are doing it
im hear saying "i want to do it"
and so far nothing is happening
its just become "talk" something that i would ideally want

costco
look everyones heard of it so im not going to explain what it is
but my brother went and this is what happened
(sound of door opens)
johnny: hellllllloooooooooooooooo?
kim: yehhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh?
(yelling from upstairs in my room)
johnny:come down guys!!!!!!!!!
kim: ok! but jenny's asleep
(i ran down straight away because i sensed something exciting.
my brother only tells us to come downstairs when theres something big.)
so i get down and see liesel with a box
kim: what?
liesel: these are for you
johnny: not just for you the kids too
kim: OMG YUMMMMM!
(as i see a whole unopened box of king sized bounty bars)
(tommy slowly advances downstairs)
tommy: YUM!
johnny goes back to the car and empties a third of his boot..
and brings out huge barbecue sauce
kim: YUKK!
(im not a big fan of sauce and especially seeing it in bulk too)
tommy : awesome
(whilst johnny was bringing in the food i conversed with liesel about costco and asked about the chocolates they had whilst munching on the bounty bars, not anything important happened here) until..
johnny: hey do you still use this?
(walks in with a 3 pack of white glo toothpaste)
as crazy as this sounds my jaw dropped
kim: YESSSSS! (in my high pitched squeaky voice)
johnny: (slightly giggles) well save me the orange one
each white glo toothpaste tube comes with a free toothbrush
(so johnny shot gunned the orange one),
i usually buy this when i need a new toothbrush,
and really in the mood to whiten my teeth..
which is like every 6 months
but seriously i dont think it works,
even though i secretly hope it does
(i know i should really change my toothbrush every 3 months but i dont.
i just forget because its not something thats on my shopping list,
or affordable because a colgate toothbrush is already like 5 bucks!
so my family and i buy coles branded toothbrushes in the value packs.
so you will always find me with a coles toothbrush or a white glo one anyday)
altogether johnny bought my dad a whole jar of olives
(big enough to fit a new born in there no jokes),
me- white glo toothpaste
tommy- listerine mouthwash
jenny- box of bounty
the kitchen- barbecue sauce (johnny eats EVERYTHING with barbecue sauce, rice, chips, kebabs, pizza, rice noodles.. anything you can think of he'll have eaten it with sauce already. and if the sauce isnt barbecue, itll be sweet chilli sauce. maybe thats why ive never really been into sauce, because johnny drowns his food with it so much that its scent is so overpowering i cant stand it.)
and himself- a slab of protein boxed drinks
(like the primary school juice boxes we all had)
and with that i go and say
"dont leave that at home, youre less active at home, youll go fat!"
(so i think he took it home with him and is going to leave it in his office)
so the products he bought isnt really specifically bought for us
but i kind of can tell which products are targeted to us,
hence my decision making and listing what he bought for us
if one kid had the chance to own one item.
and just seeing my brother take notice that i use white glo was the cutest thing ever
i swear i think if i were at costco i could cry and have a panic attack
because in my head its the biggest place ever
(but hopefully its not draining like chadstone where after 5 shops ide just be so sick of seeing so many shops in the distance that ill want to drop dead. that or head straight to the food court or home)
i could live in that place (maybe)
but it would be the best to spend my long uni breaks just walking around there
i could buy a lot of time

INTP
so i did the myer briggs personality test on facebook and this is what i got
Introversion, iNtuition, Thinking, Perception
You seek to develop logical explanations for everything that interests you. You are theoretical and abstract, and are interested more in ideas than in social interaction. You are quiet, contained, flexible, and adaptable. You have an unusual ability to focus in depth to solve problems in your area of interest. You are skeptical, sometimes critical, and always analytical.
(copied and pasted straight from facebook)
for those who know me this is the most true-est thing ive ever read
i did this test thoroughly in my first year of uni and this was exactly what i had back then as well
(just shows that i havent changed a bit since first year uni)
and i remember i was an extreme introvert like my score was 96 or something
whereas for intuition and perception i was along the 60's
and thinking was in the 50's, a bit close to the feeling side.
(i hope you understood that)
but yeh the subject was based on studying personality types of managers and i remember our tute was saying something and then said "if this is not you then this isnt the right course for you"
i was studying air transportation management
and by the end of the course i was aiming to work for an airport
and hopefully manage one
and she said something that stuck to me for a few weeks
until i finally decided to drop out of the course
because obviously it wasnt the course for me
and it took a semester and roughly four grand for me to figure that out
a couple of years later,
im now studying multimedia and i absolutely love it
but because i love it, it doesnt mean im good at what i do
so sometimes i have my doubts about whats going to happen after i finish this course
so i tell myself that i want to stay in school for as long as i can
because this is all i know
my whole life has based on school,
its all study study study,
get into mac rob, psychology is not a real subject (lol), become a doctor, become a lawyer, get a high enter, try harder.
and this was what was drilled into my head
for all those years

awake
ive been awake since 5pm yesterday
when i woke up from my 12 hour sleep
i decided not to go back to sleep at 7 in the morning today
just in case i dont wake up again
like i did on friday
when i planned to go to school like i always do
btw i was just thinking
if someone stays up the whole night
(like me), do they still brush their teeth in the morning
because its like theyve already brushed their teeth
before they went to bed, thinking theyll be sleeping through the night
and they never slept
hence there really is no need to brush their teeth
fyi, i brushed my teeth
its kind of a habit
i always brush my teeth before i sleep
and when i wake up
and if not, its morning and night
and i floss in between
especially when i have food stuck between my teeth
and my tongue seems to have trouble pushing the little bugger out!
anyways off to get ready for school

patterns
im sooo extremely angry at myself atm
i literally just woke up about an hour ago
and realised i slept through my alarm.
ive woken up so late that i cant even attend the later class
and im so angry because i cant blame anyone but myself
been telling myself to fix my sleeping pattern for the past five years
but its not going anywhere
and its not insomnia im suffering from
because i do get enough sleep in a day
im just a night owl
and my body prefers to sleep during the day
hence making it difficult to get up in the early morning or afternoon

flickr
finally made a yahoo account today
which also means i finally made that flickr account ive always wanted
but i made it in class because its a requirement in one of my subjects
(just to upload our photography homework)
so it probably wont be available for anyone to see until the end of semester
when i would also be able to upload my other photos.
i cant wait
so far this is my favourite subject this semester because its just photography
and i love photography!
fun fun fun!

mark ryden
if youve watched coraline,
there was a painting in her living room above the mantel
(the one with the boy and the ice cream, hard to miss since the painting was significant in the movie to show that she was in a different realm)
the style of the painting reminded me a lot of this artist named mark ryden
so i headed to his site to see if it was painted by him
but i couldnt find it on his site
anyways check out his work
and youde see why i like this guy
the whole abstract, eerie, dark, fantasy world kind of style really appeals to me
mark rydens site (i tried to link it but it wouldnt work sorry)

i hate kids
i hate kids
i hate kids like jenny
who try and act cute and seek attention
and over do everything
like eating messily in public
and rub her face with her oily hands before she puts her hair behind her ears
and then when you tell her to stop trying to be cute
she says in her practised whiny high pitched voice "im not trying to be cute"
and i hate it when they dont listen to you
like how you ban them eating in your room
and when you come home you find bowls on the floor
the smell of kebabs in your room
and worse is when jenny spills her drink on my floor
and she tries to cover it with my little stool
which i usually place in front of my sewing machine
and then still have the cup lying on the floor
and i smell the scent of lemonade
and when i ask her what the drink was
she blatantly lies to me and tells me its water ??
WATER? WATER? THEN WHY IS MY FLOOR SOOOO STICKY???
i hate liars hate hate hate!
and i hate it most when i know theyre lying to my face
or secretly hiding something from me
because i will find out!

blame game
(monday whilst johnny took me out driving to safeway)
kim: so are you going to be home tomorrow?
johnny: nopes
kim: wednesday?
johnny: nope
kim: thursday?
johnny: you want to drive me to the physio?
kim: yeh
(wednesay- tommy's birthday, dad comes home from work)
dad: tommy pack your books downstairs
tommy: ok
kim: let him do it tomorrow, its his birthday
dad: (who now remembers its his birthday after i reminded him)
ah ok ok
happy birthday tommy (in a fobby accent)
how old are you now?
tommy: 13
dad: woah, (looks to me)
he grows up so quick
kim: (shrugs)
dad: (looks towards me and jenny)
say happy birthday
kim: already did
jenny: happy birthday tommy
(15 minutes later, dad comes back upstairs)
dad: hey lets go to supper inn!
(if youve read earlier blogs,
the only time we have dinner as a family is during a birthday)
get up and get changed and well tell johnny to meet us in the city
(time- 5:40)
tommy and jenny: yeh lets go
kim: dont bother, johnny's busy
he already told me his not going home
well go on friday
dad: call him anyway, he can eat with us and then go back to liesel's house
kim: why bother
dad: fine (walks away and has his shower)
(time- 6:30, sound of keys opening the door)
dad: (at the coffee table having dinner)
wohaha (that happy kind of sound)
youre home today
we were going to go to supper in for tommy's birthday
johnny: why didnt you call me?
dad: kim said you werent coming home today
(johnny walks upstairs to his room)
johnny: why didnt you call me?
kim: you told me you werent going to be home
johnny: no i didnt
kim: YES YOU DID (really pissy mood)
you told me when we were driving
johnny: well you should have called me anyway
kim: well if you told me you werent going to be home on wednesday then why bother
we can go on friday
johnny: you have your rags or something?
kim: no, you just always piss the shit out of me
(end of dialogue)
so in the end my family pretty much blames me for not going out for dinner
because i no longer have faith in my older brother to put the family first.
(no offence but we have always been a second priority to him,
and if he doesnt admit it, then its a lie)
and i dont think i should have been given the blame
because if my dad had remembered tommy's birthday,
(which tommy reminded him on monday night)
we could have arranged to do something early on because johnny was also home on monday night
and i also texted johnny in the afternoon today
(not related to tommys birthday though)
but he could have easily asked me if we were going to do anything tonight
of if i wanted to do anything tonight for tommy
so everyone is to blame, dont just take it out on me!

stitching away
here are the photos of what ive made so far
the process
(notice the back to front foot, but i fixed it afterwards)
final product after two late nights,
the ones below i made in a night so im improving!
jennys new pencil case made out of scrap material my dad bought home for me
another doll i made, it was the back up doll i made for my friend just in case the first one wasnt good enough.
turned out the first one was better than the second one

LOL
i was just importing photos of the dolls ive made so far
though most of you have seen them by now
but im posting them up anyway
and in the "pictures" file i found these weird files
named "JENNY LOVES GOD, JESUS", "JENNY LOVES JESUS" and "KIM LOVES JESUS"
and i laughed sooo hard because this is what jenny names her paint files lol
jennys so strangely in love with god, jesus and the bible
i dont know whether to say anything or not
just wait until she finds out shes not catholic or christian o_0
but i guess its cute of her to be so devoted to a religion

wrigley's
just wanted to post how much i love the packaging of the new "5" gum
its just a simple black envelope like casing with a bit of colour
and the flap opens up to 12 strips/tapes (dont know what to call it)
of chewing gum
reminds me of the good old doublemint chewy strips if you still remember
and they are still popular overseas
i know its pretty much same old extra gum
thats just been rolled out thinner, repackaged and re-marketed
but its soooo sleek, elegant and sophisticated
(im such a sucker for marketing)
i love it and hope it hangs around long enough for the fruity flavours to be released
btw have you guys noticed that wrigley's is the ONLY brand that manufactures gum?
(and if im wrong then ill rephrase and say "only brand that manufactures gum in australia")
extra, juicy fruit, PK, hubba bubba, eclipse, airwaves.. and a whole lot more !
oh wait.. ok whilst thinking of gum
ive realised jila gum isnt a wrigley's brand.
so i guess i was wrong =/
